Trek 2008 was great
Trek 2008 was great. God was faithful and was present for the two weeks as we had a great time in fellowship, study, growth, boating and fun.
The lake was high - we had limited beach space and had to park the boats right next to the kitchen area. The weather was unusually pleasant - warm but not overly hot days and wonderfully cool nights. We had almost no rain High School week and 3 nites of rain but no real daytime rain for Middle School week.
The spiritual study was fascinating - check out the study guide. Jared led us on a study focused on the two theifs who were crucified with Christ and how one of them was promised to join Christ in Paradise on that very day. What as great promise for all of us - that we too will get to join Christ in Paradise.
Thanks to all the campers, staff, support folks and people back home who prayed so hard. Your love, time, and prayers were and are appreciated.
All thanks and Praise to Christ - the focus of this ministry.
Middle School 2008
TREK 2008 Middle School
Thursday Middle School
The week continues to do well. Everyone is healthy and having fun. We have had great weather - warm days and cool nights. We had a slight rain shower last nite but it was not bad. Another church is camping on Geiger island and they came over lastnight for campfire worship. It was quite cool.
We have not tubed the last two days and the kids are getting up on skiis, wakeboards and kneeboards. I have been quite impressed with how well they are helping each other, encouraging them, and being wiling to try new things.
Spiritually the bible studies are going well. They are continuing to expand their faith and growing quite a lot.

Tuesday - Middle School
Trek Middle School is well underway and everyone is doing great. The kids got down in good time and we had a fun day boating Sunday and Monday.
many of the kids have already tried a new skill and are doing great. We had the famous foil dinners last nite and they were delicious. Currently the kids are in their Bible Study as I update the web site and later we will start more boating and fun.

Friday Morning - High School Week
High School Trek 2008 is drawing to a close. Today is the last day of camping. It has been a great trek. We have had strange weather that is very un-trek like. It has been cool and dry. The days have been pleasant and warm enough for good boating and the nites have been very cool, cool enough we have really needed our sleeping bags.
We tried a new game yesterday that had the kids running all over the island competing in skills. They had to lift a greased watermellon into a bucket that was sitting atop 3 tubes out in the cove. Another skill had them throwing water to each other up a 6' cliff to see who could collect the most water in a #10 tin can. They had other skills that had them working together and haviing fun.
Jared continues to bring inspiring messages to us at worship each nite. The theme of Paradise Found is drawing to a close. Last night Jared implored us to take a new attitude where we make Christ our focus each day.

Wednesday Morning - High School Week
Everyone continues to be and do well. It is a cooler Trek than most that I remember, many had on jackets for campfire last nite. The water is smooth and we have had a great time. The campers are doing fantastic, many people tried some new skills the last couple of days and are getting quite good on the water.
The bible study is going well. Jared continues to speak about the need for Christ in our lives and the kids seem to be getting it and talking about it. In short - God is revealing himself and we are all doing well.

Monday Morning - High School Week
Trek is going great. We all made it down easily and had a good Saturday setup. Sunday the fun started. Great weather, good bible study, and fun boating. Everyone seems to be having a great time. The weather has been ideal, sunny, dry, and cool at night. Last night's foil dinners were outstanding and there are leftovers for lunch - Yeah.
We are having a great time!

We are in the final stages of getting ready for Trek 2008, Paradise Found. There have been the usual challenges getting ready but we are confident that God will meet us there and give us a great week with Him.
