Trek 2007 represents the 27th year of Tennessee Trek. Dave Friedrich led the camp in "Seeking wisdom" where youth were encouraged to turn to scripture and the Lord for wisdom rather than the world. Over 26 High Schoolers and 30 Middle Schoolers participated in Trek this year. We had a large number of first time Trekkers and the week went smoothly.
We had several opportunities to turn to the Lord for help. The first was some frantic transportation issues. Scott's oldest son, Zach, was diagnosed with cancer three days before Trek an this led to Brian and many others being called upon to arrange transportation at the last minute. Thanks to their hard work all the youth made it safely to the island and back again. PS. Zach is currently free of cancer and doing well.
The water was another issue, the levels were very high. A week prior to Trek our kitchen area was under water. The drought and troubles at Wolfe Creek caused the Corps to keep Dale Hollow Lake levels high, but fortunately the kitchen area wet but usable.
